Well Integrity & Barrier Management

Peloton Well Integrity supports proactive asset monitoring by consolidating casing and annular pressure data with historical well insights in a single system. Automated alerts flag anomalies early, enabling teams to mitigate risk, prevent failures and maintain compliance. By enhancing visibility and reliability, Well Integrity supports longer well life and confident, data-informed decisions across operations.

Integrity teams managing thousands of wells across multiple fields use Peloton Well Integrity with WellView to track barrier status, pressure monitoring and inspection histories in one place.

What Is Well Barrier Management?

Well barrier management means tracking barrier status, pressure monitoring and inspection histories for every well, so integrity engineers know each well’s barrier health and can act on risk.

For an integrity team managing thousands of wells across multiple fields, that data sits in spreadsheets, standalone databases and separate well data systems. When integrity status is unclear, wells are shut in as a precaution.

Peloton Well Integrity pulls well construction data, status history and test results directly from WellView, giving integrity engineers a single, current view of each well’s barrier health and maintenance history without duplicate entry.

How Barrier Management Works in Peloton

From the well record to the wells that need attention first, these are the steps that keep barrier status current.

  1. Pull the well record from WellView

Well construction data, status history and test results come directly from WellView, without duplicate entry.

  2. Connect monitoring systems

Well Integrity connects with the operator’s existing SCADA/PI systems, consolidating casing and annular pressure data with historical well insights in a single system.

  3. Flag anomalies early

Automated alerts flag anomalies early, so teams can mitigate risk, prevent failures and maintain compliance.

  4. Set operating envelopes

Automated workflows establish each well’s operating envelope.

  5. Prioritize by risk

Risk-based prioritization surfaces the wells needing attention first, with a clear, audit-ready picture of integrity status across the full asset base.

Keep Wells Producing with Connected Integrity

Peloton Well Integrity pulls well construction data, status history and test results directly from WellView, giving integrity engineers a single, current view of each well’s barrier health. The result is a clear, audit-ready picture of integrity status across the full asset base.

From Reactive Shut-Ins to Risk-Based Well Prioritization

A major operator in the Middle East with onshore and offshore wells.

Challenge

A major operator in the Middle East managed thousands of conventional wells across onshore and offshore assets. Integrity data was fragmented: well construction records sat in one system, pressure test results in another, and barrier status tracking relied on manual processes that couldn’t keep pace with the size of the asset base. Without a unified view of well condition, the team struggled to assess risk consistently across the portfolio. Wells were shut in as a precaution when integrity status was unclear, and the lack of a centralized method for storing caliper log and cement interpretation findings made it harder to plan targeted interventions. Non-productive time accumulated, and production suffered.

Solution

Peloton connected Peloton Well Integrity with WellView and the operator’s existing SCADA/PI systems. Well construction, status history and equipment test data flowed automatically into the integrity platform, giving engineers a single source for barrier condition, pressure trends and historical test results. The implementation included data migration and automated workflows for establishing operating envelopes. Peloton also developed a custom function for storing and using caliper log and cement interpretation data, a capability later adopted by another client.

Outcome

The operator reopened previously shut-in wells, converting better integrity visibility into recovered production.

  • Previously shut-in wells reopened
  • One source for barrier condition, pressure trends and test history
  • Caliper log and cement interpretation data stored centrally

Barrier Management Questions

What is well barrier management?

Well barrier management is tracking barrier status, pressure monitoring and inspection histories for every well. Peloton Well Integrity consolidates casing and annular pressure data with historical well insights in a single system, and automated alerts flag anomalies early, so teams can mitigate risk, prevent failures and maintain compliance.

Where does Well Integrity get its well data?

Peloton Well Integrity pulls well construction data, status history and test results directly from WellView. Integrity engineers get a single, current view of each well’s barrier health and maintenance history without duplicate entry, and pressure data can come from the operator’s existing SCADA/PI systems.

Why do wells get shut in when integrity data is scattered?

When construction records sit in one system, pressure test results in another, and barrier status depends on manual processes, there is no unified view of well condition. Wells are then shut in as a precaution when integrity status is unclear. Peloton Well Integrity gives a clear picture of integrity status so wells are prioritized by risk instead.

What does risk-based prioritization show integrity teams?

Peloton Well Integrity gives a clear, audit-ready picture of integrity status across the full asset base, with risk-based prioritization that surfaces the wells needing attention first. Instead of struggling to assess risk consistently across a portfolio of thousands of wells, engineers can plan targeted interventions.

Can Well Integrity store caliper log and cement interpretation data?

Yes. While working with a major operator in the Middle East, Peloton developed a custom function for storing and using caliper log and cement interpretation data in Well Integrity, a capability later adopted by another client. Before, the lack of a centralized method for storing these findings made targeted interventions harder to plan.
