Asset Integrity Monitoring for Wells

Asset integrity monitoring for wells tracks barrier status, casing and annular pressure, test results and integrity events, so engineers can see which wells are at risk and act on those first. Well Integrity pulls well construction and status data from WellView and brings it together with monitoring and test history in one risk-based view.

Operators use Peloton Well Integrity on portfolios from 20 offshore wells to thousands onshore, with audit-ready records for regulators and internal reviews.

What Is Well Integrity Management?

Well integrity management is the practice of keeping every barrier between a well's fluids and the environment in a known, acceptable condition for the life of the well. It covers barrier status, casing and annular pressure, component tests, integrity events and the interventions that follow.

The difficulty is rarely a lack of data. Construction records sit in one system, pressure readings in another, test results in spreadsheets, and barrier status depends on whoever last updated it. When status is unclear, the safe choice is to shut the well in, and production waits.

Well integrity software brings that data together for every well and ranks wells by risk. Engineers see current barrier condition and history in one place, and the wells that need attention first rise to the top.

How Well Integrity Monitoring Works in Peloton

From the well file to the intervention plan, these are the steps that keep integrity status current.

  1. Start from the well record

Well construction, status history and equipment data come from WellView, so integrity engineers work from the same well file as drilling and operations.

  2. Bring in monitoring data

Casing and annular pressure readings flow in from SCADA and data historians, alongside test results and inspection records.

  3. Track barrier condition

Barrier status, pressure trends and pass or fail test history are kept for every well, and automated alerts flag anomalies early.

  4. Prioritize by risk

Wells are ranked by risk, so the team plans interventions for the wells that need attention first instead of shutting in wells whose status is simply unknown.

  5. Report and audit

Integrity events, interventions and test history build an audit-ready record for regulators and internal reviews.

Keep Wells Producing with Connected Integrity Data

When integrity status is unclear, wells get shut in as a precaution. Connecting Well Integrity to WellView and live monitoring data gives engineers a current view of every barrier, so decisions rest on condition, not uncertainty.

From Reactive Shut-Ins to Risk-Based Prioritization

A major operator's onshore and offshore well portfolio.

Challenge

A major operator in the Middle East managed thousands of conventional wells across onshore and offshore assets. Well construction records sat in one system, pressure test results in another, and barrier status tracking relied on manual processes that could not keep pace with the asset base. Without a unified view of well condition, wells were shut in as a precaution when integrity status was unclear, and caliper log and cement interpretation findings had no central home. Nonproductive time built up and production suffered.

Solution

Peloton connected Well Integrity with WellView and the operator's existing SCADA and PI systems. Well construction, status history and equipment test data flow automatically into the integrity platform, giving engineers one source for barrier condition, pressure trends and test history. The implementation included data migration and automated workflows for setting well operating envelopes, and Peloton built a function for storing and using caliper log and cement interpretation data.

Outcome

With a current, risk-ranked view of every well, the operator returned previously shut-in wells to production and now plans interventions where the risk is highest.

  • Previously shut-in wells back on production
  • Barrier condition and test history in one place
  • Interventions planned by risk

Well Integrity Questions

What is well integrity management software?

Well integrity management software tracks the condition of every barrier in a well, along with pressure, test results and integrity events, so engineers can manage risk across a portfolio. Peloton Well Integrity brings that data together with the WellView well record and ranks wells by risk, so the wells that need attention first are clear.

How does Well Integrity prioritize wells?

Well Integrity applies risk-based prioritization across the portfolio, using barrier status, pressure trends, test results and integrity events for each well. Peloton surfaces the highest-risk wells first, so teams plan inspections and interventions where they matter most instead of treating every well the same.

What data does Well Integrity monitor?

Peloton Well Integrity tracks barrier status, casing and annular pressure trends, component tests with pass or fail results, integrity events and intervention history. Pressure data can come from SCADA and data historians, and well construction and status data come from WellView without duplicate entry.

How does Well Integrity connect to WellView?

Well Integrity is integrated with WellView, Peloton's well data management software. Well construction records, status history and equipment test data flow from WellView into Well Integrity, so integrity engineers use the same well file as drilling and operations teams instead of maintaining a separate copy.

Does Well Integrity support audits and regulatory reporting?

Yes. Well Integrity keeps barrier status, test history, integrity events and interventions on record for every well, which gives teams audit-ready documentation for regulators and internal reviews. Peloton built it to scale from offshore fields of around 20 wells to onshore portfolios of thousands.

How does Well Integrity work with Well Reliability?

Well Integrity covers barrier condition, pressure and tests for each well, while Well Reliability tracks equipment failures and reliability across assets and vendors, drawing on 52,000+ service years of data. Together on the Peloton Platform, they connect a well's integrity status with the failure history behind it.
